John is Durban born and bred, matriculating at Glenwood Boys High School and obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Accounting and Economics) from the University of Natal.
He spent most of his career in the clothing industry with the largest clothing and textile manufacturing company in South Africa, the last 16 years of which were as Managing Director of one of the Divisions and a Board Member of the parent company. While carrying the responsibilities for general management, namely marketing, sales, human resources, finance and production John's passion was in financial management and manufacturing excellence. He obtained certificates from the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business in Advanced Financial Management and Manufacturing and Operations Management. After taking early retirement John joined the Aldes Group as a Broker in 2010.
